Data protection and security
Your downloads contain your drivers' personal data. This is how TachoTrace treats it.
Hosted in the EU
TachoTrace runs on a server in Germany, at Hetzner. Your uploaded files and the data read from them are stored there.
Each fleet kept apart by the database
Every fleet has its own database login, and row-level security in PostgreSQL lets that login read only its own fleet's rows. The application never takes the fleet from anything a browser sends.
Our support console shows account details and counts, never your drivers, vehicles or activity.
Signatures checked
Every file's digital signature is checked against the European root keys, which are built into TachoTrace. Nothing is downloaded to check them.
Deleted automatically
Data older than your plan's history is deleted automatically: after 90 days on Free. On Standard and Pro, after 2 years. Rejected files are deleted 90 days after upload.
Export and deletion
The export of your whole fleet is available on every plan. You can delete a driver, a vehicle or your whole account at any time; the original files are deleted with them.
Service providers
These providers process data for TachoTrace:
- Hetzner, Germany: hosting of the application, the database and your files.
- Brevo: sending account emails, such as sign-in and verification links.
Not your statutory archive
Transport undertakings must keep all data downloaded from vehicle units and driver cards for at least 12 months after recording (Regulation (EC) No 561/2006, Article 10(5)(a)(ii)). TachoTrace does not do that for you. Keep your own copies.
This website
This website sets no cookies, runs no scripts and loads nothing from other sites. The web server keeps no access log.
The demo
The demo shows a fictional fleet with synthetic data. A demo session needs no account, lasts 60 minutes and cannot change anything.
Privacy: The Privacy notice says who is responsible for which data and what your rights are.
